When things go wrong at sea, time is precious, and our lifeboat crews need to get to a crippled craft as fast as possible. This gift puts an extra 30 litres of marine diesel into a lifeboat's tanks. At top speed, the RNLI’s Mersey class lifeboat's engines use around 14 litres of fuel per nautical mile.
